You can read the latest posts on your favorite blogs by adding them to the reading list on your Blogger dashboard.
Follow a blog
Your Google profile, including your name and profile photo, will show up publicly as a follower of a blog when you use the Followers gadget. You can change your Google profile any time. To follow a blog anonymously, follow it from the Blogger dashboard or the Settings menu.
From the blog’s Followers gadget
- Sign in to Blogger.
- In the blog that you want to follow, look for the Followers gadget.
- Click Follow.
- In the window that appears, click Follow.
From your Blogger dashboard
- Sign in to Blogger.
- In the left menu, click Reading list .
- In the top right, click Manage reading list .
- Click Add.
- Type the URL of the blog you want to follow.
- Click Next.
- Choose whether to follow publicly or anonymously.
- Click Follow.
Stop following a blog
From your Blogger dashboard
- Sign in to Blogger.
- In the left menu, click Reading list .
- In the top right, click Edit .
- Next to the blog you want to remove, click Delete .
From the blog’s Followers gadget
- Sign in to Blogger.
- In the blog that you don’t want to follow anymore, look for the Followers gadget.
- Click Unfollow.
- In the window that appears, click Unfollow.
Let readers follow your blog
To let other people follow your blog, add the Followers gadget:
- Sign in to Blogger.
- In the top left, click the Down arrow .
- Choose the blog to update.
- In the left menu, click Layout.
- Choose where you want to add the Followers gadget.
- Click Add a Gadget.
- In the window that opens, click More Gadgets.
- Look for “Followers” and click Add .
- Choose your settings.
- Click Save.
- To save the arrangement, in the bottom right, click Save .
Frequently asked questions
Which profile is used when I follow a blog publicly?
Your Google profile will display on any blog you are following publicly. You can change your Google profile any time.
Keep in mind:
- If you are following a blog anonymously using your Blogger or other profile and you decide to follow it publicly, your Google profile, not your Blogger or other profile, will be displayed.
- Blogs you’re already following publicly using your Blogger or other profile will still use the profile you used when you started following them.
How can I block followers of my blog?
To prevent someone from following you:
- Sign in to Blogger.
- In the top left, next to your blog’s name, click the Down arrow .
- Choose the blog you want to work on.
- In the left menu, click Stats .
- At the top, next to “Followers," click the number.
- Find the follower you want to block and click Block.
- When you post on your blog, blocked followers won’t get updates anymore.
Note: Even if you block a someone from following your blog, they may still be able to go to your blog’s URL and read and comment on your blog.
